Most shops hand off a codebase and move on. We operate a portfolio of our own platforms — a multi-tenant staffing and booking product serving twelve verticals, a salon booking and operations system, a location-storytelling platform with creator payouts, and a five-vertical AI diagnostic suite running from a single deployment. That means we carry the consequences of our own architecture decisions for years, not weeks.

It shows up in specifics. Tenant isolation lives in Postgres row-level security rather than application code, because a single missed WHERE clause in application logic can expose one tenant's data to another, and enforcing the boundary in the database removes that failure mode entirely. Error monitoring is wired in before launch as standard practice, not added after a failure in production makes the gap obvious. Test suites are launch gates rather than aspirations.
